ATTN: WOMEN IN INTERNATIONAL TRADE IN THE UK

The Trade and Gender Equality team within the UK Department for International Trade are exploring the experiences of UK women-led businesses, who either currently or have the potential to export to international markets.

This research project aims to understand the behaviour of women-led businesses, the main challenges to starting or expanding exporting, and to what extent government support is or could be used to overcome these challenges. The information gained from this study will be used to support the development of trade policy within DIT, including the development and implementation of gender equality provisions within our trade agreements and the design of export support services provided by DIT.

The research project will entail filling out an online questionnaire which asks for information about your business, your exporting activities, any challenges you face when starting to export and/or expanding exports, and methods you have used to deal with these challenges. The remainder of the questionnaire will focus on your views about how DIT could best provide support to you. The survey should only take up to 15 minutes to complete.

Further, you may be asked to take part in a follow-up interview to further explore your views and experiences. We will ask for your permission to be contacted for this stage of the research at the end of the online questionnaire.

All your information will remain private and confidential and will be rendered anonymous in the final stage of analysis.

If you would like to participate in the study, please contact us for more details.
